Director

With over 28 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, David leads True North Construction with a hands-on approach and a commitment to quality and sustainability. Starting out as a joiner, he developed a deep understanding of the trade before progressing into site and project management, overseeing a wide range of developments from start to finish. He later founded True North Construction to deliver reliable, high-quality building solutions and has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional results, on time and within budget.

Steven 

Director

With over 25 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, Steven brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to True North Construction. Beginning his career as a joiner, he honed his skills on-site before advancing into site and project management, successfully overseeing a variety of developments from concept to completion. Steven’s dedication to quality has been instrumental in shaping the company’s approach to construction. Alongside David Roberts they founded True North Construction and continued to drive the company forward, building a reputation for excellence across the Northeast.

Laura

Project Manager  

Bringing a wealth of transferable skills from her background in the education sector, Laura plays a vital role in the growth and operations of True North Construction. As Business Development Manager, she takes a hands-on approach, overseeing key areas such as our construction software, job tracking, procurement, valuations, health and safety, and client liaison. Laura’s adaptability and attention to detail ensure that projects run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with client expectations. Her ability to manage multiple aspects of the business makes her an integral part of the company’s continued success.

Tayler

Operations Manager  

With over 19 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, Tayler plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of True North Construction. Having honed his skills in London starting out as an electrical engineer, he has worked alongside Tier One contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke, and Kier, gaining invaluable expertise in delivering large-scale projects to the highest standards. Now based in the Northeast, Tayler brings his wealth of knowledge and industry insight to support the company’s growth, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest level of quality

Keith

Site Manager

With over 35 years of experience in the construction industry, Keith brings a vast amount of knowledge and expertise to True North. A joiner by trade, Keith has spent years refining his skills before moving into site management, where he worked as a manager for Morgan Sindall on a variety of projects. As one of our Site Managers, he plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard. His wealth of experience and leadership make him a valuable asset to the team.

Andy

Site Manager

With a strong background in construction and experience running his own successful business, Andy brings valuable expertise to True North. As one of our Site Managers, he is currently heading up our Birks Farm project in Hexham, ensuring it is delivered efficiently and to the highest standard. Andy’s hands-on approach, leadership skills, and industry knowledge make him a key part of the team, overseeing site operations and ensuring projects run smoothly from start to finish. 

Jamie

Civils Manager

With over 18 years of experience in the groundworks sector, Jamie brings extensive industry knowledge and expertise to True North. Having worked alongside Tier One contractors across the UK, he has been involved in a wide range of complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Starting his career as a groundworker Jamie plays a key role in overseeing groundwork operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Site Supervisor

With 29 years of experience in joinery and the wider building industry, Jamie is a highly skilled and hands-on Site Supervisor at True North. A joiner by trade, he brings a deep understanding of construction processes and site operations, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. Jamie’s wealth of experience and hands-on approach help maintain efficiency on-site, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and to specification.

Jimmy

Site Supervisor

An experienced joiner, Jimmy brings 18 years experience of to True North. He spent eight years in Australia refining his trade before returning to the Northeast of England. As Site Supervisor, Jimmy plays a key role in overseeing day-to-day operations on site, ensuring high standards of work and efficiency on-site.

Multi Trade 

Connor is one of the longest serving members of the team. Connor is multi skilled and can turn his hand to all tasks and he is always happy to help where needed. Connor brings over 12 years of experience in construction to the team. 

Mick

Joiner 

Mick is one of our onsite joiners, he is highly skilled and produces high quality work to millimetre perfection. Mick has worked with both of our directors for a number of years and is an important member of the team. 

Jordon

Skilled Labourer

Jordon is our skilled labourer and is known for his strong work ethic. Jordon supports the team on-site whenever required. 

ben

Apprentice

Ben is our bricklayer apprentice and is currently developing his skills under the guidance of our experienced team. Ben is undertaking his NVQLV2 in brickwork. Ben is gaining valuable experience to become a skilled tradesperson in the industry.  

Daniel

Apprentice

Daniel has recently qualified with his NVQLV2 in joinery and has jumped straight onto his NVQLV3. Dan is developing his skills under the mentorship of our expert team. Dan is a very popular member of the team as he is happy to help with any task put in front of him. 

Byron 

Apprentice

Byron has just qualified with his NVQLV2 in joinery and has also jumped onto his NVQLV3. Byron is developing his skills under the mentorship of our expert team. Byron has shown real potential since joining True North. 

LEE

Apprentice

Lee is our oldest apprentice here at True North, and is highly regarded within the company. Lee is currently completing his NVQLV3 in joinery and continues to impress with his knowledge and capability. 

JOSH

Apprentice

Josh is currently completing his NVQLV2 in joinery. Josh has been instrumental in the building of the timber frame at our Tynemouth project alongside Site Manager James. Josh has shown great potential and willingness to learn.
